About TonnaBase
The public record of Washington’s municipal solid-waste market, kept in one place and dated: who holds which collection or disposal contract, where, on what terms, until when, and where the tonnage goes.
What it is
Washington’s 281 cities and 39 counties buy garbage, recycling and organics collection through franchise agreements, service contracts and utility tariffs, and send the tonnage to transfer stations, landfills and processing sites under separate agreements. Those documents are public: adopted ordinances, executed contracts, published tariffs, council agendas and minutes, regulatory filings, and official statistics. TonnaBase reads them, records what they say, and cites the source beside every fact so a reader can check the original.
Who it is for
Hauling companies, facility operators, consultants and public agencies that need to know when a contract comes up, who holds it today, and what the record shows about it. Access is by invitation or request; every seat is a named person with an authenticator app.
What it is not
TonnaBase does not recommend a price, predict an award, or pool any subscriber’s own information. Figures are advisory ranges with stated assumptions. Material obtained under public-records law and marked confidential by its author is excluded from display.
Who runs it

How the site is run
The application is hosted on Vercel, the database and sign-in on Supabase, and email through Resend, all under this domain. The site sets standard security headers, serves everything over HTTPS, and requires a second factor for every account. Invitation and password-reset emails link only to tonnabase.com.
